David Joseph McMullen, 55, of Longmont, Colo., died Jan.
22, 1997, at
Longmont
of natural causes. Graveside
services will be held at 10 a.m., Feb. 1, at
Mount
Calvary
Cemetery,
Nampa.
Mr. McMullen was born April 30, 1941, at
Auburn, Neb.
He
spent his early years on a farm in Nebraska and moved to Lincoln, Neb.,
after the death of his father.
He graduated from
Lincoln High in 1959. He
enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served in the Special
Services until being honorably discharged in 1963.
After that, he
graduated from Colorado Aero Tech at
Jefferson
County
Airport.
He married Jan
Arehart on August 20, 1966, at Nampa,
before moving to California to work for
Continental Airlines. He
and Jan were foster parents of "Dana" and "Joey" before
starting their own family in
Simi Valley, Calif. They
moved to Idaho in 1972.
He was a former
member of St. Paul's Catholic
Church, Nampa.
Dave had been an auto mechanic in Longmont for the past 11
years. He
enjoyed drives through the mountains.
He was a
good family man that cared greatly for his children
and grandson and was a soft-hearted friend to many.
He is
survived by his mother, Velma E. McMullen of Lincoln; his
wife, Jan McMullen of Nampa; a son, Sam R. McMullen of
Nampa; a daughter, Sara J. McMullen of Longmont; a sister,
Nancy McMullen of Broomfield, Colo.; a grandson, Sammy
McMullen Jr. of Nampa, and beloved nieces and nephews.
He
was preceded in death by his father, Joseph McMullen; and a
son, Tad L. McMullen.

Hospice Program,
Nampa.
