Charles P. Martinez Sr., 45, of Nampa,
died Monday, Dec. 17, 1990, at a
Nampa
hospital. Rosary
will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Persons-Flahiff Funeral
Chapel, Nampa. Mass
of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at
St. Paul's Catholic Church, Nampa.
The Rev. Thomas
Taylor, pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church,
will be the celebrant. Burial
will follow at Mount
Calvary
Cemetery,
Nampa.
Charles was born
Jan. 25, 1945, at Gardner, Colo.,
a son of Delino J. and Eufemia M. Ortivez Martinez.
He moved with his
family to Torrington,
Wyo., where he was raised and attended schools
and graduated from
Torrington
High School.
He married Ruth M.
Baros June 25, 1963, at Pueblo, Colo., and they
lived at Torrington
where he worked as a meat cutter.
They moved to
Nampa in 1968 where he worked as a wet line
mechanic for the J.R. Simplot food processing facility in Caldwell.
Mrs. Martinez died
Dec. 9, 1982. He
later married Josefina Gonzalez Delgadillo Sept. 6, 1985, at
Winnemucca, Nev.,
and they made their home in
Nampa.
Charles liked to
fish, hunt and to construct things around the house.
He was adept at
making wooden items. He
also enjoyed traveling.
He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church.
Survivors include
his wife, Josefina of Nampa; a son, Charles P. Martinez Jr.,
of Houston, Texas; six daughters, Paula Saenz, Charlene
Ramirez and Brenda Garcia, all of Waco, Texas, Melissa
Rodriguez of Fruitland, Lori Martinez and Viridiana G.
Martinez, both of Nampa; six brothers, John I. and Delfino
Martinez Jr., both of Torrington, Wyo., Rudy Martinez of
Caldwell; Jessie Martinez Sr., of Boise, Ron Martinez of
Sierra Vista, Ariz., Robert Martinez, U.S. Navy in the
Persian Gulf; two sisters, Rosemarie Romero of Torrington,
Joyce Jimenez of Nampa; 12 grandchildren; and several nieces
and nephews.
His parents preceded him in death.
