Clarence Marvin
McDorman, 66, of Melba, died Tuesday, June 22, 1993, at the
Nampa hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2
p.m. Fricay, June 25, at the Melba Friends Church, Melba,
with the Rev. Ron Lowry, pastor, John Seyler of Caldwell and
Don Lamm of Greenleaf officiating. Burial will follow
in the Melba Cemetery.
Mr. McDorman
was born July 4, 1926, at Holyoke, CO., a son of John A. and
Mae Middlebrook McDorman. He moved with his family to
the Nampa area where he grew up and attended Sunnyridge
School. He then worked for various area farms until
entering the U.S. Navy in 1944, serving until 1946, during
the end of World War II. He returned to Melba and on
Sept. 12, 1946, he married Barbara Jean Miller at
Winnemucca, NV. He worked as a amechanic at Melba,
then worked as a logger for a few years before moving to
Anchorage, Alaska. He returned to Melba in 1958, and
worked at the Sugar Factory in Nampa before he began
working as an independent milk hauler in the Treasure
Valley, an occupation from which he retired in 1985. They
have lived forty years in Melba.
His hobbies
were horses, boats, classic cars and entertaining his
grandchildren.
He was a member of the Melba
Friends Church, the Divin-Slonecker Post No. 126, American
Legion, the Melba Lodge No. 150, I.O.O.F., and an active
volunteer for the Melba Senior Citizen Center.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara of Melba; two daughters
and sons-in-law, Jeannie and James Haskett of Greenleaf and
Nicki and Ken Fiskum of Caldwell; one daughter-in-law, Debra
McDorman of Melba; his step-mother, Inez McDorman of
Turlock, CA.; three brothers, Harold of Caldwell, Glenb of
Ronan, MT., and Wesley of Salmon, ID.; two sisters, Eileen
Davis of Melba and Inez Jackson of Auburn, CA.; eight
grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Marvin;
and two brothers, John E. and Virgil.
Memorials may
be made to the Greenleaf Friends Academy, Greenleaf, Idaho,
83626, or flowers may be sent.
Friends may call until 9 p.m. today, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Thursday and 9 a.m. until noon on Friday at Persons-Flahiff
Funeral Chapel, Nampa, and after 1:15 p.m. at the Melba
Friends Church.
