Services for Ruth Knapp, 80, of Melba Route 1, who died
Tuesday, Dec. 27, at her home will be conducted at 2 p.m.
Saturday at the Melba Friends Church with the Rev. J. Harley
Adams, pastor of the church, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Melba
Cemetery.
Services and interment are under the direction of the
Alsip Funeral Chapel,
Nampa.
She was born April 22, 1903, at Stahl, M., to Isaac and
Florence Young.
She received her early schooling there and graduated from Kirksville High School.
In 1925 she moved with her family to Linden, Mich.
She was office manager for the Highland Park YWCA for
16 years.
She married Russell Knapp in 1930 at Highland Park.
Following their marriage they made their home in New
Hudson, Mich., until moving to a farm south of Melba in
1947. She was a
member of the Church
of Christ in Mt. Hope, Mo.
She was attending the
Melba
Friends
Church.
She had been very active in community affairs and was
a 4-H leader for many years.
She is survived by her husband of Melba; one son, Grant
Knapp and his wife, LaWana, of Meridian;
one daughter, Ruth Ann Knapp, Saginaw, Mich., three brothers, Will Young, Davison, Mich., Michael
Young, Long Beach, Calif., and Gordon Young, Owosso, Mich.;
four sisters, Marie Kimble, Linden, Mich., Kathleen Bryan,
Hayward, Calif., Levon Koenig, Hillman, Mich., and Doris
Pitton, Evart, Mich.; three granddaughters, Shari, Julie and
Gina, all of Meridian; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, two
sisters, and one grandson.
