Ruth Lefler

    Funeral services for Ruth Dyer Lefler, 93, of Wilder who died on Saturday, July 30, at a Nampa nursing home of natural causes, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, with the Rev. Merle Fisher of St. Paul's Catholic Church of Nampa, officiating.  A rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at the Dakan Funeral Chapel, conducted by Rev. Fisher.  Interment will be at the Wilder Cemetery in Wilder.
    She was born Sept. 13, 1889, in Malheur County, Ore., at Dead Ox Flat, now known as the Oregon Slope, to Dennis and Ellen Dyer, who were among the first homesteaders of that part of the Oregon Territory.  She graduated from Weiser High School and later attended St. Teresa's Finishing School in Boise.  She married Rex E. Lefler on April 28, 1917, at Gooding, Idaho. He was a railroad telegrapher and they lived in Washington, Oregon and Idaho before settling in Wilder in 1942. He died Jan. 18, 1972.
    She was active in community projects and belonged to several clubs until ill health, caused her to retire in 1982.
    Survivors include a son, W.G. (Bill) Lefler of Royal City, Wash.; three daughters, Mrs. Carl (Bette) Swigert of Wilder, Mrs. George (Helen) Brower of Davenport, Wash., and Mrs. Jean Brown of Nampa; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
    The family suggest memorials may be sent to the Christian Children's Home in Boise.
