Ray Kucera

    Ray Kucera Graveside services for Ray Kucera, 77, of Nampa, who died Friday, Dec. 6, at the Nampa hospital, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.  The Rev. Jerome J. Murray, S.J., chaplain of Mercy Medical Center, will officiate.  Services are under the direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
    Mr. Kucera was born Aug. 9, 1908, in Hayes County. Neb., to Joseph and Meryllle Agnes McKillip Kucera, and was reared and attended schools in Nebraska.  He farmed in Nebraska for several years prior to moving to Grants Pass, Ore., in 1934, where he farmed.  He later moved to Tulelake, Calif., and worked as a carpenter and then was engaged in the construction of high voltage electrical transmission lines.  He married Myrtle K. Riggs Davis on Oct. 27, 1952, at Reno, Nev., and they made their home at Merrill, Ore.  He later was foreman of the Tulelake Cold Storage facility.  He retired in 1962 and they moved to Bliss and resided there until moving to Nampa in October, 1985.
    He was a member of the Catholic Church and a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge in Oregon.
    He is survived by his wife, of Nampa a daughter, Joan VanMatre of Tulelake, Calif.; a brother, Guy Kucera of Bellflower, Calif.; a sister, Inez Womble of El Centro, Calif.; four grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and some nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, two brothers and a sister.
