Mary Kochis

    Rosary for Mary J Kochis, 89, Parma Route 2, who died Thursday, Feb. 17, at a Nyssa, Ore., hospital, will be recited at 4 p.m. Sunday in Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
    Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday in the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, Parma, by the Rev. Arturo Escobedo.  Interment will follow in Parma Cemetery,
    She was born Feb. 22, 1893, at Gyor, Hungary, to George and Mary Varga.  She came to Malheur, Ore., at age 20.  She married Andrew Kochis on Nov. 17, 1913, at Vale, Ore.  In 1934, they moved to the Arena Valley near Wilder.  Her husband died in January of 1950 and she moved to Parma, where she has since resided.  She was a member of the Parma Senior Citizens and of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, Parma.
    She is survived by five sons, George of The Dalles, Ore., Steve of Wilder, Wendell of Twin Falls, Fred of Elgin, Ore. and Anthony of South Dakota; two daughters, Mary Carney of Baton Rouge, La., and Margaret Meng of Vista, Calif.; a brother, Michael Varga of Hungary; 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, one daughter, one brother and one sister.
    Friends may call at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel Caldwell, from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday and from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
