Graveside services for Lindley J. Larrance, 93, of Greenleaf,
who died Tuesday, Sept. 9, at a Caldwell
nursing home, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Greenleaf Cemetery.
The Rev. Don Lamm of the Greenleaf Friends Church
will officiate under the direction of the Flahiff Funeral
Chapel, Caldwell.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the
Greenleaf
Friends
Church.
Mr.
Larrance was born Jan. 6, 1893, in
Jefferson County, Iowa, to William Hulda Hoskins Larrance.
He moved with his
family to Idaho in 1900 and was reared on a small farm
near Star. In 1912 he moved to the Riverside area south of
Marsing which was known as
Peaceful
Valley where he worked
with his brother-in-law clearing sagebrush for their farm
land.
He
married Orpha Puckett on Nov. 28, 1928, in
Boise.
They moved to Caldwell in 1944 and to Greenleaf in 1946
where he had since resided. Mrs.
Larrance died in December 1968.
Most of his life he
worked as a farmer, mechanic and combine operator.
He
was a member of the Greenleaf Friends Church.
He is survived by a son, Paul L. Larrance of Greenleaf; a
daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Marjorie and Harold Weesner of
Newburg, Ore.; a granddaughter, Catherine L.W. King of
Monmouth, Ore.; three nephews, Glen Birch of Caldwell, and
Chester and Clarence Birch, both of Riverside; and a niece,
Laura Dymoke of Portland, Ore.
He
was preceded in death by two sisters.
Friends may call Thursday from 1 until 8 p.m. at the Flahiff
Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Memorials may be given to the
Greenleaf Friends Academy.
