Faye Long

    Faye Long, 82, of Caldwell, passed away at her home July 12, 1993.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 16, 1993, at the Caldwell Friends Church.  Pastor Butch Hart of the Caldwell Friends Church and Pastor Steve Fine of the Denair Friends Church in Denair, California, will officiate.  Interment will follow at the Greenleaf Cemetery.  Services are under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
    Faye was born in Jewel County, Kansas, December 26, 1910, the daughter of Edgar and Isa Craven.  She attended school in Jewel County and graduated from North Branch Academy.  She attended Kansas State Teachers College where she obtained her teaching certificate and taught school for eight years in Kansas.  In April of 1937 she moved to Greenleaf, Idaho.  She married Paul J. Long, August 31, 1938, in Caldwell and they made their home in Greenleaf until 1941 when Paul was called to the service.  
    Faye worked in various businesses in both Caldwell and Boise.
    She was very active in her church and served on many committees in her church and the Yearly Meeting.  She was active in the Greenleaf Quilting Club and also the Christian Services United in Caldwell.
    Faye loved to knit, crochet and enjoyed her flowers and garden.  She loved children and was known as Grandma or Aunt Faye to many.
    Faye is survived by her husband, Paul of Caldwell; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Marjorie Craven and Alyce and Keith Williams, all of Newberg, Oregon; three sisters-in-law, Nellie Craven of Dodge City, Kansas, Genevieve Craven of Grundy Center, Iowa, and Arline Craven of Newberg, Oregon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Isa Craven; a sister, Verda; and three brothers, Verle, Leslie and Glen.
    Her family suggests memorials be made to the Caldwell Friends Church or the Greenleaf Friends Academy.
    Friends may call at Dakan Funeral Chapel, from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
