Harvey Lyon

    Services for Harvey B. Lyon, 74, of Wilder, who died of natural causes Friday, April 10, at a Homedale nursing home, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
    The Rev. Sam Hendrix of Medford, Ore., will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Wilder Cemetery.
    Mr. Lyon was born Aug. 25, 1912, at Mount Etna, Iowa, to Maston and Cora Lyon.  He moved with his parents as a child to Luke County, Neb., where the family homesteaded. He married Elva Mae Lesher March 22, 1934, at Burke, S.D.  They lived in Rock County, Neb., before coming to Idaho in 1938.  They lived in the Huston and Sunny Slope area until 1941 when they moved to Vancouver, Wash., where he worked in the ship yards.  In 1943 they came to Parma where he worked for Parma Water Lifters and later moved to Lake Fork, where he farmed from 1947 to 1950.  They came to Wilder in 1950 and he worked for Idaho Concrete.  He later worked for J.R. Simplot Company from 1953 until his retirment in 1974.
    He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a member of the National Rifle Association.
    He is survived by his wife of Wilder; a daughter, Moretta Jones of Copper Center, Alaska; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Vicki Lyon of Homedale; two grandsons; a granddaughter; three great-granddaughters; three nieces and three nephews.
    He was preceded in death by a brother, Howard, and an infant sister.
    Memorials may be made to the Wilder Quick Response Unit, in care of Dakan Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 1386, Caldwell 83606.
    Friends may call at the chapel on Monday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
