Services for Grant Russell Knapp, Sr., 85, Melba, who died
Friday, July 13 at a Nampa
Hospital, will be conducted 3 p.m.
Monday at the
Melba
Friends
Church
with the Rev. J. Harley Adams, pastor of the church
officiating.
Interment will follow in the Melba
Cemetery.
Services and interment are under the direction of the
Alsip Funeral Chapel.
Mr. Knapp was born March 30, 1899, at New Hudson,
Mich., To Frank and Bertha Knapp.
He was educated in that vicinity and as a young man
farmed and operated a retail gasoline and oil service.
He was a member of the Board of Commerce of New
Hudson and was the Volunteer Fire Chief for many years.
He
was married to Ruth Young in 1930 at
Highland Park, Mech., and they made
their home in New Hudson until 1947 when they moved to a
farm south of Melba.
Mrs. Knapp preceded him in death Dec. 27, 1983.
He
is survived by one son, and his wife, Grant and LaWana
Knapp, Meridian; one
daughter, Ruth Ann Knapp,
Saginaw,
Mich.; two brothers, Harvey Knapp,
Wichita, Kan., and F. J. Knapp, Deltona, Fla.; two sisters,
Alice Niestroy, Lakeland, Fla., and Doris Bannerman, Winter
Haven, Fla.; and three granddaughters, Shari, Julie and Gina
Knapp, all of Meridian.
Besides his wife, he was also preceded in death by
his parents, a brother, two sisters and a grandson.
