Frank Korn

    Rosary for Frank J. Korn, 66, of Nampa, who died Monday, March 31, at home, will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel of Nampa, by the Rev. George Fahey.
    Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Catholic Church by the Rev. Merle J. Fisher and the Rev. George Fahey.  Elks Lodge Rites by Nampa Lodge No. 1389, BPOE, will be held at the church.
    Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery with veterans rites by the Joseph H. Murray Post No. 18, American Legion.
    Mr. Korn was born April 25, 1919, at Karlin, Mo., and moved with his family to Nampa, where he was reared and educated.  He then attended the Nampa Business College.
    He served with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during World War II in the African and European theaters and was en route to the Philippine Islands for duty when the war ended.
    He married Colleen J. Bauer on July 29, 1948, in Nampa, where they made their home.
    He was a carman for the Union Pacific Railroad for more than 30 years, retiring in 1981.
    He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, the Father Harry Hayes Assembly of Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, a charter member and past president of the Nampa Council of Knights of Columbus, of Nampa Lodge No. 1389, BPOE, and past president of the Nampa local of the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen of America.
    He is survived by his wife of Nampa; two sons, Frank L. Korn of Caldwell and David A. Korn of Nampa: three brothers, Charles and Paul Korn of Nampa and Peter Korn of Idaho Falls; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by and two brothers.
    Memorials may be made to the Mountain States Tumor Institute, Boise, or flowers may be sent.
    Friends may call until 9 p.m. today, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and until 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Nampa chapel.
