Graveside services for Earl E. Klahr, 75, of Homedale, who
died Monday, Dec. 15, in a Homedale nursing home of natural
causes, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Parma Cemetery.
Father John Donoghue of St. Mark's Catholic Church,
Boise, will officiate, under the direction of the
Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
Mr. Klahr, a retired farmer, was born July 7, 1911,
at Owasso, Okla., to George and Nora Matthews Klahr.
He came to the
Arena
Valley area near Adrian, Ore.,
at the age of four. He
graduated from Parma
High School in 1930.
He
lived in the Parma
area and had herded sheep for the Little Sheep Co. of Emmett
for several years near
Warm Lake.
He
married Elsie L. Johnson Feb. 6, 1947, at Payette.
They farmed in the
Notus-Parma area for many years.
She died Aug. 28. 1977.
He later married Florence Hinton Jan. 3, 1979, at
Winnemucca. Nev.
They had resided
near Homed ale since that time.
He
was a member of the Homedale Odd Fellows Lodge and the
Caldwell Elks Lodge No. 1448.
He
is survived by his wife of Homedale; a daughter and
son-in-law, Karen and Mike Otter of Boise; a stepdaughter
and stepson-in-law, Sharon and Nolan Taggart of Homedale; a
stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, James and Sandy Hinton of
Homedale; five brothers, Harry, Charles and Carl Klahr, all
of Caldwell, Elmer Klahr of Middleton and James Klahr of
Parma; two sisters, Nola Yeakel of Parma and Ruby Reese of
Caldwell: two grandsons; four step-grandchildren; and a
great-stepgrandchild.
He was preceded in death by a twin sister, Pearl
Bloyd; and a brother, Clarence.
