Donald Leeper

    Memorial services for Donald Ray Leeper Sr., 83, of Middleton, who died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Owyhee County, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 29, 1996, at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.  Reverend Donald J. Brown of the Star Friends Church will officiate.  Cremation was under the direction of Flahiff Crematory, Caldwell.
    Don was born August 21, 1912, at Fountain Grove, Missouri, a son of James L. and Catherine Studebaker Leeper.  He moved with his family to Montana at the age of three and to Idaho in 1938.  He worked construction for a few years.  For fifteen years he worked as a packer, taking big game hunters into the back country.  He worked for Amalgamated Sugar Company, Nyssa Plant, for approximately eight years, and shearing sheep all over the Northwest in the off seasons until retiring eight years ago.
    Don was an avid fisherman and hunter.
    Survivors include his wife, Verna of Middleton; a son, Donald Ray Leeper Jr; two stepsons, Ronald Heberger of Caldwell and Lee Heberger of Nampa; two brothers, Lester Leeper of Glenns Ferry and Bill Leeper of Caldwell; a sis-ter, Helen Davidson of Caldwell; one grandchild; eight stepgrandchildren; numerous stepgreat-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, a twin sister, Dorothy; a sister, Mabel and a brother, Willis.
