Arvilla Lopez

    Christian wake services for Arvilla A. Lopez, 70, of Nampa, who died Tuesday, Dec. 8, at the Nampa hospital, will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
    Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Nampa.  The Rev. Merle J. Fisher, S.M., will be the celebrant.  Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Nampa.
    Mrs. Lopez was born March 30, 1917, at Cleora, Okla., to George W. and Jenny Warner Deitrick.  She moved with her family to Morrill, Neb., where she was reared and educated, graduating from Morrill High School in 1935.
    She married Alfred Lopez Sr. on May 13, 1936, at Morrill.  They made their home in Nebraska until moving to Caldwell in 1948 and later to Nampa where she had since resided.  She had been a day care operator and baby sitter in this area for many years.  Mr. Lopez died Dec. 12, 1981.
    She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and of the Women of the Moose.
    She loved being with her family and enjoyed fishing, hunting and dancing.  She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Al Lopez Jr., and Vera Lopez, William and Donna Lopez and John and Linda Lopez, all of Nampa; a daughter and son-in-law, Teressa and Bob Martin of Nampa; three brothers, Henry Deitrick and Virgil Deitrick, both of Caldwell, and Clark Deitrick of Hoquium, Wash.; three sisters, Elsie Tolmand and Minnie Tuma, both of Caldwell, and Ethel Gatliff of Seattle, Wash.; nine grandchildren (sic); five great-grandchildren; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
    Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1528 Vista Ave., Boise, 83705; or flowers may be sent.
    Friends may call until 9 p.m. today, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, and 9 until 10:30 a.m. on Friday at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
