Susan K. Belyeu, 63, passed away June 27, 2008, at a Boise hospital. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 3, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Nampa. Burial will follow in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Nampa. Susan was born in Portland, Ore., to Robert F. and Rose (Calzacorta) Grass on Oct. 15, 1944. She was raised in Nampa and graduated from Nampa High School in 1962. She attended college at Gonzaga University in Spokane and then at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. Susan met her future husband, Howard Belyeu, while waiting tables at her parents' restaurant, the Town Talk Café. He was a cowboy and she set her sights on him. They were married on July 18, 1966, on the Monday before the Snake River Stampede. They made their home in Nampa. Susan was a professional volunteer. She enjoyed participating in Girl Scouts, bowling, working at St. Paul's School, watching rodeo events, and especially all of her "crafty" projects.
Susan is survived by her husband of 41 years, Howard; her daughters Sherri (Scott) McIlhargey and Jennifer (Matthew) Brayko; her grandchildren, Ashley and Levi McIlhargey and Jacob Brayko; and her aunt, Neola Calzacorta.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Rose Grass.
