HOMEPAGE

O. Jay Obendorf

     O. Jay Obendorf, 55, of Wilder passed away June 21, 2009. Jay was born July 25, 1953, in Caldwell, to Orville and Nellie Obendorf. He grew up on a farm and attended school in Wilder, graduating in 1971. He went on to BSU for two years then to diesel mechanics school in Denver, Colo. His children, Melissa, Joshua and Michele, were born from his first marriage. He went on to meet his kindred spirit April and they were married on May 4, 1990, in Elko, Nev. Jay grew up farming and went on to work in the Mining Industry and as a HAVAC Technician. For the past four years he had been employed with May Trucking as a long-haul truck driver. He was driving his big rig when he was struck with a massive heart attack; he had the strength to ride the truck to the side of the road with no injury to anyone or the truck. Jay was an avid outdoorsman; he loved fishing, camping and hiking. His time spent with his eight grandchildren made his life complete, whether he was making mud pies or giving driving lessons.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, one grandson and his grandparents. He is survived by his wife April; children Melissa (Lamon) Louck, Joshua (Kellie) Obendorf and Michele Obendorf; stepson Tim Richardson; grandchildren AnnMarrina, Ashley, Emily, Alexis, Levi, Sarah, Kimberly and Kirkland. He is also survived by his sister Debra (Bill) Graves and their children Wendee Jones and Ryan Graves and best friends Garth and Marilyn McGuire. Jay was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all.
