Mother - Jane Adkins (Vermont)


Note - Place of burial noted in obituary
is incorrect.  Burial was in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.

FORMER CALDWELL MAN STRICKEN UNEXPECTEDLY

Heart Failure Takes E. W. Eames, After Day of Toil in
Hay Field

     CALDWELL - After having spent the day working in the hayfield Erastus William Eames, former widely known resident of Caldwell, expired unexpectedly Friday night at his homestead near Melba.  He had retired seemingly in usual good health.  He was stricken about 10:30 o'clock and died within a few minutes from heart trouble.
    Mr. Eames was 63 years old.  He came to Caldwell 14 years ago.  About two years ago he move to the place he was homesteading at Melba.  He is survived by the wife, tghree daughters and two sons, all of whom live in the county.  The daughters are Mrs. Lucy J. Earner, Mrs. Mary E. Morse, both having homes of their own, and Miss Freddie, who lived with her parents.  W. W. Eames is a married son, while Jacob lived at home.
    The body was brought to Caldwell and prepared for burial.  Funeral services will be held from the Peckham-Case chapel at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon.  Members of the Modern Woodmen order, to which the deceased belonged, will participate.  Burial will be in Canyon Hill cemetery.
