HOMEPAGE

Amagene (Jean)
Roper Bunch

Amagene (Jean) Roper Bunch, 80, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Jan. 29, 2007. She was a resident of Autumn Wind Assisted Living Center in Caldwell. Jean was born in Roosevelt, Mo., on June 8, 1926. She attended Little Zion School in Douglas County, Mo. On Dec. 14, 1945, she married Troy Bunch. They lived in West Plains, Mo., where Troy farmed. In 1951 they moved to Wilder, where Troy worked for Wilder Farms and Jean worked cleaning the Wilder Farms office and several homes until retirement. Jean was the oldest of 14 living children, and had many stories to tell about helping raise her siblings. At the time she got married, her mother was still raising babies. Jean loved them all, along with her growing number of nieces and nephews. In 1947, Jean's only child, Leland was born. He was the apple of her eye and grew up playing with some of his aunts and uncles.
Jean is survived by her son, Leland Bunch and his wife Jeanne of Twin Falls; two grandsons, Matt (Kim) Bunch of Twin Falls, Tim (Naomi) Bunch of Wilder; four great-grandsons, Declan, Alex, Daniel and Zachary; one brother, Charles (Carol) Roper of West Plains, Mo.; eight sisters, Lucille Cunningham and Verla (Marvin) Honeyfield of Willow Springs, Mo., Eula (LeRoy) Parsons, Thelma (Wayne) Tooley, and Phyllis (Ron) Franks of West Plains, Mo., Nina (Ed) Loring of Sheridan, Wyo., Joyce Smith of Mountain Grove, Mo. and Mary (Don) Turner of Caldwell. Jean was welcomed into heaven by her husband Troy, parents, Henry and Retta (White) Roper. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Edgel Roper, Joe Roper, Henry Roper Jr. and Earl Roper.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, at the Wilder Cemetery, Wilder.
