HOMEPAGE

    R. M. Mudgett, one of Middleton's well known citizens, died last week. His death was not unexpected for he had lingered at death's door during the past week. He had been ill for six years, a sufferer of paralysis.
He was born in Ohio, March 6, 1841. Moved to Iowa with his parents when a small boy. Married Louisa Caster September 14, 1868, and moved to Missouri a few years later. He came to Idaho from Washington about six years ago, settling on a farm near this town. Four years ago he and his devoted wife came to town to reside and have been every since.
Mr. Mudgett was one of God's noblemen and had the esteem of all who knew him. He leaves, besides a faithful wife, three brothers and one sister. A brother from Spokane will arrive today to assist in the last sad rites, the others being too far away to come. The funeral was held Sunday from the I.O.O.F. hall, being under the direction of the Jones Furniture Co. Interment was made in the Middleton cemetery.
