     Schools of this district were dismissed for the afternoon this Wednesday, February 7, 1979, for Memorial Services held at 2 p.m. in the High School Gymnasium, for Ralph James Bennett, lifetime resident of the Parma and Roswell area, and faculty members at Parma High School since 1964.  The Rev. Edson Pederson, minister of the Kirkpatrick Memorial Community Presbyterian Church, conducted the service.  Private interment was at the Roswell Cemetery under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel of Caldwell.
    Mr. Bennett died Sunday morning Feb 4, at the Caldwell Hospital.  He was 62.  He was born September 19, 1916 at Mountain Home, Idaho and moved to the Roswell area when he was 2.  He graduated from Roswell High School and attended Boise Junior College and the College of Idaho.  He married Margaret Allen, September 9, 1941, at Roswell.  During World War II he served with the Air Force in Europe.  He farmed in the Roswell area for many years and had taught school in Parma from 1964 until he became ill and was confined to his home and in the hospital during the past four months.
    He was a member of Kirkpatrick Memorial Presbyterian Church, the Parma Masonic Lodge, was a Past President of the Parma Lions Club and trustee of the Lion's Sight Foundation.
    Surviving are his wife, Margaret, and a son, David Bennett, both of Parma, three daughters, Jane----------------- Myers of Parma, Carol Jensen of Escondido, California, and Susan Larson of San Antonio, Texas; two brothers, Leroy and Willard, both of Parma; two sisters, Blanche Stubblefield of Parma, and Mae Church of Sacramento, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harvey and Marion.
    Memorial donations may be given to the Parma High School Athletic Field Lighting Fund or to the Lions Sight Foundation.
