Ruth Cloninger

    Memorial services for Ruth C. Cloninger, 93, of Parma who died Oct. 26, at a Nyssa nursing home of natural causes were held Oct. 30, at the Sterry Memorial Presbyterian Church in Roswell.  The Rev. William H. Webster of the Sterry Memorial Presbyterian Church and the Rev. Raymond L. Wilson of Ontario, Ore., officiated.
    Private family graveside services were held at the Roswell Cemetery.  Funeral services were under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
    Mrs. Cloninger was born July 9, 1894, in Indianola, Iowa, the daughter of Bryce Monroe and Mary Dodds Maxwell Campbell.  She married Roy Allen on Jan. 17, 1914.  Mr. Allen died in 1939.  After the death of Mr. Allen, she moved to Seattle where during WWII she worked on B-17 bombers.  She later became a licensed practical nurse and worked in the Seattle area.
    She moved to Roswell and worked at the Nyssa hospital as an aide.  She married Elmer Cloninger in 1960.  Mr. Cloninger died in 1962.  After Mr. Cloninger's death, she moved to Parma and sold Avon until her health would no longer permit her to work.
    Survivors include a son, Norris Dale Allen or Meridian; a daughter, Margaret Bennett of Parma; a sister, Cleora Fisk of Parma; seven grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, a sister and a great grandchild.
