Don Sword

   Don Sword, 75, of Nampa, died Monday, Feb. 24, 1997, at a Boise care center of natural causes.  Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 28, 1997, at the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.  Pastor Gordon Slyter of the Treasure Valley Worship Center in Meridian will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Melba Cemetery.
    Don was born on May 1, 1921, in Pike County, Ky., to Jerry and Minnie Sword.  He served in the U.S. Army in World War II.  He married Hazel Scott Sword on April 6, 1945, in Pikeville, Ky., where they resided until moving to Nampa in 1960.  Don worked as a body and repairman for Honstead Motors until retiring in 1972.
    He is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Bob Henry of Lincoln City, Ore., Emily and Bob Westphal of Welches, Ore., Patsy and Jack Tackett of Nampa, and Lois and Harold Maylan Patchett, also of Nampa; one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Romona Sword of Melba; 21 grandchildren; 13 great-grand-children; and a sister, Gaylene Sword of Pikeville, Ky.
    He was preceded in death by his wife; parents, a granddaughter; and a brother.
    The family will greet friends and family at the Alsip Chapel on Thursday, February 27, from 6 to 8 p.m.
