Billie F. Meador

     Billie Franklin Meador, 89, of Nampa passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at the VA Hospital in Boise.
    Bill was born in Santa Ana, Calif., March 22, 1922, to John William and Sylvia Creek Meador. He was the youngest of 7 children, four boys and three girls.
    Following his graduation from Santa Ana High School in 1940, Bill went to work for Consolidated Air Craft in San Diego, Calif. He worked there until he enlisted in the United States Army Air Force in 1942. During WWII he was a flight engineer on a B-24 and flew 50 missions.
    In June of 1945 Bill married the love of his life, Nora Maxine Ryssman. After receiving an Honorable Discharge in September 1945, he went to work for the United States Postal Service in Santa Ana, Calif. Southern California was their home for 31 years. During which time their daughters Sheryl and Pam were born and raised.
    Bill and Maxine retired in 1976 and moved to Nampa to live near their daughters and their families.
    Bill was always busy and especially loved giving service to others. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and attended the Nampa 15th Ward.
    His wife, Nora Maxine Ryssman Meador, his parents, three brothers, two sisters and a grandson, Stephen Meador Ward preceded Bill in death.
    He is survived by his daughters, Sheryl (Ross) Luekenga, Pam (John) Ward, one sister, Stella Rumbaugh, nine grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 13th at the Nampa 15th Ward LDS Chapel located at 2212 E. Amity in Nampa. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 12th at the Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N. Midland Blvd. and at the church, Friday from 10 – 10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
