DIES OF HURTS
IN SNOWSLIDE

Arthur E. Wood Succumbs to
Injuries; Funeral of
Purnell Today.

The death of Arthur E. Wood at a local hospital late Wednesday night, added another to the list of fatalities in the snowslide at the North Star mine near Hailey.  Mr. Wood was one of the men rescued, who was seriously injured.  He was brought to Boise as soon as possible and underwent an operation for internal injuries but from the first little hope was entertained for his recovery.
Mr. Wood is survived by six brothers, three sisters, his parents, a widow and three children.  The body is at Fry & Summers' chapel and will be taken to Parma for burial Saturday.
The missing trunk, belonging to John Howard Purnell, one of the slide victims, reached Boise from Hailey Thursday, but it contained no data concerning any of Purnell's relatives.  Mr. Purnell is believed to have had a bank account, since he was a thrifty man, but nothing has been learned of this as yewt.
The funeral will be held from Fry & Summers' chapel today at 2 o'clock.  The Rev. H. J. Reynolds of the Christian church will officiate at the chapel and the services at the grave will be in charge of Boise lodge No. 2, A. F. & A. M.  Interment will be in Morris Hill Cemetery.
