Letitia Swarthout

     Graveside services for Letitia R. "Tish" Swarthout, 79, of Melba Route 1, who died Saturday, April 9, at a Boise hospital. will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Melba Cemetery by Bishop Conrad G. Zeyer, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, under the direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel of Nampa.
    She was born April 28, 1903, at Idaho Falls, and attended grade school there before moving with her family to Boise where she completed her education.  She married Loyd George Swarthout July 9, 1921, at Boise where they made their home until moving to Melba in 1944 where they engaged in an electrical contracting business and later farmed.  Mr. Swarthout died Sept. 4, 1964.  She was a member of the LDS church, the Walters Butte Grange, the Royal Neighbors of America and the American Legion Auxiliary.
    She is survived by one son, Claude R. Swarthout, Boise; one daughter, Virginia Whaley, Salt Lake City, Utah; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
    One brother and three sisters preceded her in death.
    Memorials may be made to the Melba Community Auction.
    Friends may call at Flahiff Funeral Chapel of Nampa until 9 p.m. today; from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday; and may meet at the cemetery for services.
