Jake Surginer

     Jake T. Surginer, 82, of Parma. died Thursday. May 19, 1994, at his home of natural causes. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 1994, at the Dakan Funeral Chapel of Parma.  Private inurnment will be at Canyon Hill Cemetery, Caldwell.
    Jake was born June 19, 1911, to Ashbury and Beulah Surginer in Hill County, Texas. He grew up in Willow, Texas.  Jake moved to Southern California in the 1930s.  In 1972 he moved to Willow Creek, California, where he owned and operated the Forks Bar.  He moved to Parma. Idaho, in 1980 to operate The Old General Store (Texaco).  He retired in 1984.
    Jake was a lifetime member of the San Fernando Lodge of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.
    Survivors include Rose Richardson of Parma; daughters, Patti Machado of El Centro, CA, Donna Burkman of San Fernando, CA, Janet Zahn of New Meadows, and Pat Steel of Parma; a brother, L.T. Surginer of Sinton, TX; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grand-children; and several nieces and nephews.
