John Steel

      Services for John K. Steel, 75, Parma, who died Sunday, Jan. 26, in a Nyssa hospital of natural causes. will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Dakan Funeral Chapel, Parma.
    The Rev. Paul F. Evans of the Kirkpatrick Memorial Presbyterian Church of Parma will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Roswell Cemetery.
    Mr. Steel was born Dec. 18, 1910, at Fayetteville, Ark., to Alvin and Ethel Keifer Steel.  He moved to the Roswell area in 1913 with his family.  He graduated from Parma High School and Idaho State University at Pocatello.
    He married Ruth Sales on Dec. 26, 1940, at Caldwell.  He worked for Guy F. Atkinson Construction and traveled and lived in various places.  He had farmed in Roswell since 1948 and retired from farming in 1971.  He was a 50-year member of the Parma Masonic Lodge No. 49, AF&AM, and a member of the El Korah Shrine.
    He is survived by his wife of Parma; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Deborah Steel of New Plymouth; a daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Bruce Pusey of Pocatello; a foster sister, Jean Jensen of Albany, Ore.; and four grandchildren.
    Friends may call at the chapel in Parma from 6 to 8 tonight.
    Memorials may be made to the Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital or a favorite charity in care of the Dakan Funeral Chapel of Caldwell, P.O. Box 1386, Caldwell.
