Gladys Strode

     Gladys M. Strode, 89, of Parma, died Wednesday, March 25, 1992, at a Caldwell care center.  Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 30, at the Parma Cemetery.  Plais Johnson of Parma will officiate.  Services are under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
    Mrs. Strode was born May 28, 1902, at Yoncalla, Oregon, to Fredrick J. and Edna F. Meinzer.  She moved to Parma at an early age and worked for the I.D. store in Parma.  She married Roy Strode Jan. 15, 1949, at Parma and they moved to Middleton where they operated a grocery store until 1955.  Mrs. Strode also had worked for the Falk's Department Store in Caldwell and for Caldwell Plumbing.  In 1955 they returned to Parma where she has since resided.
    She was a member of Pansy Rebekah Lodge No. 37, Middleton.
    Survivors include her husband, Roy of Caldwell; a stepdaughter, Sophia Strode Scott, and her husband, Raleigh, of Caldwell; and a stepgrandson.
    She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Dorothy.
    Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Dakan Chapel, Caldwell.
    Memorials may be made to the Pansy Rebekah Lodge No. 37 or to a favorite charity.
