Dorothy Stimmel

     Services for Dorothy L. Stimmel, 75, Homedale, who died Sunday, Dec. 22, at the Caldwell hospital, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Homedale, by Bishop Steve Carson of the Homedale LDS Church.
    Interment will follow at the Wilder Cemetery.
    Mrs. Stimmel was born Aug. 31, 1910 at Darlington, Idaho, to David and Mary Clapp Evans.  She moved with her family to the Arena Valley area and later to Butte, Mont. where she was reared and educated.  She moved to Wilder in the fall of 1933.
    She married Manford Stimmel on Sept. 15, 1934, at Caldwell.  They moved to Jordan Valley where they lived until March of 1935 when they moved to Homedale.  They had farmed in the Homedale area since that time.  She enjoyed sewing, quilting and did other handiwork.
    She was a member of the Homedale First Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was active in the relief society there.  She had been a 4-H leader in Homedale for many years and was a member of the Gem Precilla Club.
    She is survived by her husband of Homedale; two sons, Mark D. Stimmel of Homedale and Monty C. Stimmel of Spokane, Wash.; two daughters, Doreen Underwood of Spokane and Janis Tuha of Caldwell; a brother, Hal Evans of Nampa; two sisters, Grace Leavitt of Nyssa and Mel Suiter of Nyssa; 15 grand-children, 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.
    Friends may call Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. and from 9 a.m. until noon Friday at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Homedale.
