Memorial services for Delbert D. "Blackie" Sullivan, 75, of
Parma Route 2, who died Sunday, Aug. 28, at a Boise hospital
of natural causes will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at
the Sterry Memorial Presbyterian Church, Roswell, by the Rev.
William C. Wartes and the Rev. Dean Lantz, both of Sterry.
Private family interment will be at the Parma Cemetery under
the direction of the Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
He was born March 19, 1908, at Middleton. He moved with
his family as a young boy to the Parma area where he was
reared and educated. He attended school at Roswell and
Wilder. He married Rose Clarke on Aug. 11, 1946.
He loved farming and was in the produce business for 45 years.
He grew potatoes and made deliveries throughout the Boise
valley. He was a member of the Sterry Memorial
Presbyterian Church where he served as deacon and elder.
He was a loved husband, father and friend.
He is survived by his wife of Parma; one son, Ronald Sullivan
of Littleton, Colo.; two daughters, Joyce Cole of Vancouver,
Wash., and Dianna Longoria of Nampa; four sisters, Mable Smith
of Portland, Ore., Francis "Toots" Smith of Beaverton, Ore.,
Geneva Fries of Tillamook, Ore., and Vera Ogden of
Albuquerque, N.M.; 13 grand-children, four
great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, one
brother and one half-brother. Memorials
may be made to the Sterry Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Friends may call at the chapel in Caldwell today from 5 to 9
p.m. |
