Robert Skinner

    Robert R. Skinner, 73, of Caldwell, died Sunday, November 27, 1994, at his home of natural causes. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Decem-ber 1, 1994, at Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Interment will follow at Canyon Hill Cemetery, Caldwell.
    Mr. Skinner was born February 25, 1921, at Boise, the son of Harry C. and Nellie G. Young Skinner.  He was raised and educated at Wilder, graduating from Wilder High School in 1936.  He then attended two years of business college before entering the United States Army November 25, 1942.  He was honorably discharged November 9, 1945, with the rank of Sergeant having served with the HQ 455th Bomb Group in the European Theatre of Operations.
     After his discharge from the Army, Mr. Skinner returned to Caldwell where he worked for the flour mill in Caldwell and later as a bookkeeper for Caldwell Electric.  He married Berniece Mae Miller on December 20, 1952, in Caldwell.  He later worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service and then as a court bailiff and law librarian for a number of years for Canyon County.  He was also an active volunteer in many capacities with the Idaho Veterans Home in Boise.  
    He was a devoted father and grandpa who was loved very much by his family and will be greatly missed.
    Mr. Skinner was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge #3 of Wilder and Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge #39 A.F. & A.M. of Caldwell; a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars #3886 of Caldwell and the Military Order of the Cootles.
    Surviving are his daughters and sons-in-law, Trudy and Terry Eiguren of Cascade and Jane and Laine Stocking of Boise; a granddaughter, Kristine Stocking of Boise; two aunts, an uncle and numerous cousins.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Berniece, an infant son and an infant sister.
    Friends may call at Dakan Funeral Chapel in Caldwell from 2 to 8 p.m. today.
    His family suggests that memorials be made to the Idaho Veterans Home in Boise or to a favorite charity.
