Services
for Mildred S. Smith, 75, of Murphy, who died Thursday, March
5, in the Nampa hospital, will be conducted at3 p.m. Monday at
the Alsip Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Harry Morris, a
son-in-law and pastor of the Big Valley Missionary Baptist
Church in Bieber, Calif., officiating. Interment will
follow in the Melba Cemetery. Mrs.
Smith was born on Nov. 16, 1911, at Kadoka, S.D., to Charles
and Alice Rooks Youman. She was reared and educated in
Kadoka and was married to Forest E. Smith on July 19, 1927, at
Kadoka. In 1929 they moved to Idaho had have lived and
ranched in Owyhee County for a number of years. She was
a member of the Murphy Community Club.
She is survived by her husband of Murphy; six daughters and
sons-in-law, Mrs. Dora J. (Virgil) Arnold of Emmett, Mrs.
Marie (Harry) Morris of Bieber, Calif., Mrs. Eleanor (Keith)
Elliott of Parker, Idaho, Mrs. Darlene Maiden of Nampa, Mrs.
Rixie (Robert) Jess of Jordan Valley, Ore., and Mrs. Lois (Sheral)
Johnston of Oreana; three sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and
Pat Smith, Alvin and Ann Smith and Reed and Georgia Smith, all
of Oreana; two sisters, Mrs. Sid (Mable) Smith of Melba, and
Mrs. Eleanor Sigloh, Kadoka, S.D.; one brother and
sister-in-law, David and Shirley Youman of Boise; 44
grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; and two
great-great-grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by one brother, three sisters and three
grandchildren. |
