Myrtle Spellman

      Funeral services for Myrtle Spellman, 99, of Wilder, who died Friday, May 26, 1995, at a Caldwell care center, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 1, at Flahiff-Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.  Rev. Eldon Hunter, Wilder, will officiate.  Interment will follow at the Wilder Cemetery.
    Myrtle was born April 21, 1896, at Verdon, Nebraska, one of nine children born to James and Olive Veal Workman.  She was reared and educated in Nebraska, when in her teens she moved with her family to Colorado.  Myrtle married Jesse w. Spellman on March 26, 1913, at Wray, Colorado.  She was a noted Midwife for several years.  In 1941 they moved to Wilder, where she has since resided.  Jesse and Myrtle celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 1973.  Jesse died Oct. 23, 1973.
    Myrtle enjoyed crafts, especially making Crocheted rugs.
    She was a member of the Wilder Free Methodist Church, and later attended the Fargo Community Church, and was a member of the Fargo Ladies Club.
    Myrtle is survived by four daughters and two sons-in-law, Ruby Knight, Boise, Lois and Cecil Hall, Caldwell, Olive and Bill Detweiler, Pendleton, Ore., Marilynn Roper, Wilder; a brother, Pat Workman, Lebanon, Ore.; numerous grand-children; great-grand-children; great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
    Friends may call on Wednesday, May 31, from 4 until 8 p.m. at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
