Rosary for Joe D. Solo (Solosabal), 89, of 1921 East Sherman
Avenue, Nampa, who died Sunday, Oct. 9, at a Nampa hospital,
will be recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Flahiff Funeral Chapel
of Nampa. Mass of Christian Burial will
be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Catholic
Church by the Rev. Thomas Halpin. Interment will follow
at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. He was born
Feb. 22, 1894, at Ceniga, Viscaya, Spain, the son of Juan
Domingoez and Josefa Antonia Ugartehuru, and was reared there.
He came to the United States in 1911 and lived at Mountain
Home and later Boise and worked as a sheepherder. He
then moved to Mullan, Idaho, and worked in the mines in the
Coeur d'Alene district for 26 years. He married Juana
Gamcho Urizar March 22, 1940, at Saltese, Mont., and they
lived in Mullan. They moved to Nam-pa in 1945 and farmed
east of town. He retired in 1970.
He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of Nampa; three daughters, Mrs.
William B. (Marie) Wells, Mountlake Terrace, Wash., Mrs.
Eugene (Frances) Gericke, Victorville, Calif., and Mrs. Harold
V. (Louise) Croy, Nampa; 11 grandchildren; eight
great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Flahiff Funeral Chapel of Nampa until 9
p.m. Tuesday, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, and until 10
a.m. Thursday. |
