John Slonecker

     Graveside services for John D. Slonecker, 71, of 1410 W. Flamingo Ave., Nampa, who died Saturday, Nov. 26, in a Boise hospital, will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Melba Cemetery with the Rev. Kenneth B. Britt, pastor of the Nampa First Christian Church, officiating, and military rites by the Divin-Slonecker American Legion Post 126 of Melba.
    Friends may meet at the cemetery.  Services are under the direction of the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
    He was born Feb. 15, 1912, at Moorefield, Neb. He was reared and educated in Nebraska. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.  He was married to Goldie Mooney on Sept. 3, 1947 at Winnemucca, Nev.  Since their marriage they made their home Nampa.  He worked for Kellogg Mills in Nampa for over 20 years.  He was a member of the Nampa First Christian Church.
    He is survived by his wife of Nampa; five sons, Wesley of Greenleaf, Charles of Sacramento, Calif., John Jr., Daniel, and James, all of Nampa; two daughters, Patricia Hill, Preston, and Deanne Myers, Salt Lake City, Utah; two brothers, Wayne of Nampa and Bud of Arapahoe, Neb.; two sisters, Mabel Deselm, Holyoke, Colo., and Ida Sinclair, Portland, Ore.; 21 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
    Friends may call at the Alsip Funeral Chapel today from 5 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
