Betty May Standley, 46, of Caldwell, passed away Monday,
December 4, 1995, at the Caldwell hospital of natural causes.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December
8, 1995, at the Boone Memorial Presbyterian Church, Caldwell.
Reverend Mike Turner will officiate. Burial will follow
at the Greenleaf Cemetery, Greenleaf, Idaho, under the
direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Betty
Standley was born March 5, 1949, in LaGrande, Oregon; to
Robert L. and May Ann Kalmbach. As a young girl, Betty
was involved in many community, church and school activities,
such as: 4-H, pep band, pep club, drama, drill team, annual
staff and choir. She was President of the organization
Future Homemakers of America. Betty was also selected to
be a delegate at Girls State in 1966. She attended Notus
High School from 1964 to 1966, and graduated as Valedictorian
in 1967. Betty attended Albertson College 1967 to 1971,
as an honor student, graduating with a degree in Elementary
Education. Betty did her student teaching at Washington
Elementary School, then later taught at Wilson Elementary.
She was then employed by the Region III Adult & Childs
Development Center, Department of Health & Welfare. She
then worked as the Director of Staff and Development Training
for the Idaho State School and Hospital, where she took early
retirement. Betty married Steven T
Standley on December 16 1978, in the Boone Memorial
Presbyterian Church. They have resided in Caldwell since
that time. Betty enjoyed reading,
crafts, camping and spending time with her friends. She
loved being involved with her church and her children's
schools. Most of all, she loved being with her family.
Betty was a very loving and kind-hearted person, and she will
be missed by so many. Survivors include
her husband, Steve of Caldwell; her children, Brad and
Stephanie two stepsons, Sam and Sean and his wife Lark; one
step-grandchild; her mother and father, Robert and May
Kalmbach of Caldwell; three brothers, Robert L. Kalmbach Jr,
of Puyallup, Washington, Gary L. Kalmbach of Nampa and Kevin
Wayne Kalmbach of Caldwell. Friends may
call today until 8 p.m. at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel,
Caldwell. |
