Services for Wesley H. Gibson, 94, of Middleton, who died
Thursday, May 28, at the home of his daughter in Caldwell,
will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at the Flahiff Funeral
Chapel, Caldwell.
Pastor Mark Johnson of the United Methodist Church of
Middleton will officiate. Burial will follow at the Middleton
Cemetery.
Mr. Gibson, a lifetime farmer, was born April 26, 1893, at
Harrison, S.D., to Robert and Iola Burr Gibson. He was reared
and educated in South Dakota where he married Nina Skov on
Jan. 10, 1919, at Chamberlain, S.D.
The couple farmed at Kennebec, S.D., until 1933 when they
came to the Lakeview and Riverside area in Canyon County where
they farmed. In 1954, they moved to Middleton where he has
since resided. Mrs. Gibson died Aug. 25, 1970.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Middleton.
His hobbies included fishing, dancing and gardening, and
he enjoyed spending time whith his family.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Robinson of
Middleton and Iola (Mrs. O.D.) Sargent of Caldwell; one
brother, Bert Gibson of Rapid City, S.D.; two grandsons, Dan
Robinson of Caldwell and the Rev. Rand D. Sargent of
Fruitland; and five great grandchildren, Michele and Nichole
Robinson of Albuquerque, N.M., and Michael, Patrick and
Timothy Sargent, all of Fruitland; and numerous nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by several brothers and a sister.
Memorials may be given to the United Methodist Church,
Middleton.
Friends may call today from 1 until 6 p.m. at the Flahiff
Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. |
