William Cecil Hammons

    William Cecil Hammons, of Fruit Heights, Utah, and formerly of Wilder, Idaho, died Friday, April 12, 1996.
    Cecil was born Oct. 21, 1903, in Douglas County, Mo., to Vina and Lincoln Hammons, the ninth of 12 children.  He came to Idaho in February 1922 and worked for Percy Trunnell for two years.
    Bertha Sidener became his bride on March 8, 1924.  He farmed until the fall of 1935, and worked for the Idaho Bureau of Reclamation for the next 33 years, retiring in October 1968.  He moved to Caldwell, Idaho, in 1984, then to Utah in 1988.
    Cecil is survived by his wife, Bertha of Fruit Heights, Utah; his three children, Wylma Gericke of Fruit Heights, Marion Hammons of Earp, Calif., and Bill Hammons of Killeen, Texas; eight grandchildren and their families; and his sister, Ada Currier of Emmett, Idaho.  He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and 10 of his siblings.
    Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, at the Wilder, Idaho, Cemetery.
    Friends may call Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Dakan Funeral Chapel, 504 S. Kimball, Caldwell, Idaho.  Arrangements are by Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, Kaysville, Utah.
