Viola Mae Kenyon went to be with our Heavenly Father on
January 18, 1997, at a Caldwell care center. She was born to Henry
and Sarah Roberts Maggard on February 13, 1909, in
Taney
County Missouri. Viola
was educated there and married John Raymond Kenyon on April
29, 1926. They moved
to Idaho
1942 and had lived in Wilder since that time where she worked
for the Morfitt Stores until her retirement in 1983.
Together they raised
five children. Ray
died in 1971.
Viola was a member of the General Baptist
Church in Missouri and the Charity Rebekah Lodge in
Wilder. Viola's joys
in life were her children and grandchildren and her flower
gardens.
Viola is survived by her children, Dean and Pat Kenyon,
Hanford, CA, Texas
Brown, Idaho Falls,
ID, Leo and Sylvia Kenyon,
Omaha, NE, Dale
and Vera Kenyon, Wilder, ID, and Joe and Victoria Kenyon, Hollister, CA.
She is also sur- vived
by her grandchildren, Bobbette Jones, CA, Billy and Diane
Kenyon, OR, Denise and Carl Hegarty, NE, Cheryl and Joseph
Inabinette, TX, Karen and Dan Truman, ID, Steve and Dana
Brown, ID, Tony and Lee Ann Brown, OR, Douglas and Ann Kenyon,
ID, Melissa and Juan Orozco, ID, Gyneth Osborn, Canada,
Michael Kenyon, CA, and John Kenyon, CA, and numerous
great-grandchildren. She
also has a great many nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law
survive her, Lola Maggard, MO, and Guenevere Maggard, NV.
She was
preceded in death by her husband; her brothers and sisters,
Alfred, Irvin, Tackett, Louis, Emory, Laura, Cindy, Goldie,
and Willard; and a son-in-law, Buck Brown.
Graveside services, under the direction of Flahiff Funeral
Chapel, will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, January 24, 1997, at
the Wilder
Cemetery.
Services will be
conducted by her grandson, Pastor Tony Brown.
Memorials may be sent
to the Charity Rebekah Lodge or a favorite charity.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
