Sabino Hernandez

    Rosary for Sabino V. Hernandez, 66, of Nampa, who died Friday, April 4, at a Nampa nursing home, will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
    Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Nampa.  The Rev. Henry Carmona, pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, will be the celebrant.  Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
    Mr. Hernandez was born Dec. 30, 1919, at San Marcos, Zacatecas, Mexico, to Blas and Ruperta Vega Hernandez.  He was reared and attended school in Mexico.
    He married Juana Lopez Feb. 22, 1945, at Piedras, Coahuila, Mexico.  He worked for several years as a truck driver in Mexico.
    He worked as a farm hand in west Texas from 1951 until 1964 and moved his family to Texas in 1962.  He then moved his family to Nampa in 1966 where he did farm work until retiring in 1984.  He also worked on a seasonal basis for Crookham Seed Co., Caldwell, until 1985.
    He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church.
    He is survived by his wife of Nampa; five sons, Jose A. Hernandez of Nampa, Sabino Hernandez Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Jaime Hernandez, Albert Hernandez and Joey Hernandez, all of Nampa; four daughters, Maria Cabanilla of Caldwell, Hortencia Hernandez of Nampa, Lupe Wissel of Mountain Home, and Janie Wilson of Ontario, Ore.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one niece.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
    The family suggests that memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, East Canyon County Unit, care of Mrs. Bert Stone, 1643 Park Ave., Nampa; to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, East 905 3rd Ave., Spokane, Wash.; or flowers may be sent.
    Friends may call at Flahiff Funeral Chapel from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and from 9 until 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
