Funeral services for
Roy S. Harada, 69, of 2204 Oak St., Caldwell, who died
Thursday at a Caldwell hospital of natural causes, will be
conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the Dakan Funeral Chapel,
Caldwell, by the Rev. Gary Shoemaker of the First Christian
Church Homedale. Interment will follow at the Wilder
cemetery.
He was born April 29, 1914 in Havre Mont. where he was
reared and educated. He enlisted in the U.S. Army June 6, 1941
and served with the 422nd Infantry in Europe. He married
Kidieko Okada on April 25, 1943 in Hattiesburg, Miss. He
received his honorable discharge from the Army Aug. 6, 1945
and returned to Havre where he owned and operated several
restaurants. He came to Caldwell in November of 1966 and had
been employed by the Golden Pheasant Restaurant and the
Holiday Motel restaurant until his retirement in 1976.
He is survived by his wife of Caldwell; one daughter,
Shirley Itano of Homedale; one son, Roy of Boise; three
brothers, William of Havre, and Frank and Ben, both of Wolf
Point, Mont,; one sister, Mary Yoshikawa of Homedale; and four
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers. |
