Randall S. Carpenter passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2006 at the age of 96 to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m.
Wednesday, May 10 at Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Burial will follow at Wilder Cemetery, Wilder.
Randall was one of seven brothers and one sister born to Case (Cornelius) and Edith Carpenter, on December 28, 1909 in Gate, Okla. His parents named him Reynold, but when a teacher told him that he was spelling it wrong he changed it to Randall.  His Grandma Carpenter always called him Randall.
Randall grew up during the Great Depression working the farm with his father and brothers. He graduated from Rosston High School in 1928 and moved to South Laverne in 1929 to work for EWL Construction building the pipeline in 1930. On March 6, 1932 Randall moved to Idaho, where he worked on farms in both Boise and south of Wilder. On May 18, 1935, Randall married Berniece Eilleen Winter, the one and only love of his life.
On April 20, 1936 the couple had their first child, Nancy Laverne Carpenter Weaver. On March 8, 1939 Randall and Berniece had a second child, Randall Chester (Chet) Carpenter. After his marriage, he purchased a small farm in the community of Fargo south of Wilder, where he farmed with his brothers. In 1956, Randall went to work for J.R. Simplot, where he worked until 1974. He loved the outdoors; riding horses, hunting and fishing with his many friends and family. He also loved traveling and visiting friends and family.
In death, Randall joins his beloved wife, Berniece, who passed away on February 13, 1970 and his loving daughter, Nancy Laverne Weaver, who was called to Heaven on June 25, 1997; his parents; three brothers, Charles, Harold and Leslie Carpenter; and one sister, Mary Graber.
Surviving Randall are three brothers, Rex Carpenter of Vale, Ore., Harry Carpenter of Caldwell and Clifford Carpenter of St. Helens, Ore.; his son, Chester Carpenter, daughter-in-law Ann Carpenter and son-in-law Bobby Laverne Weaver; six grandchildren, Lisa Annette Fitting, Mitzi Le Ann DeShone, Colleen Olson, Neil Weaver, Melani Lynne Fragge, and Connie Inquez; and 12 great-grandchildren. Randall lived a rich and blessed life leaving his family with a legacy of love, faith, and honor. Memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or Boise Rescue Mission.
