Nathella 'Nan' Hughes

    Nathella "Nan" Mary Hughes, 93, of Melba, died Monday, November 30, 1992, at home of natural causes.  Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 3, at the Melba 2nd Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Bishop Mark Hoagland of the Ward will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Melba Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
    Nan was born September 22, 1899, at Mt. Pleasant, Utah, to William Clarence and Bertha Young Anderson.  She married Jim Hughes November 13, 1920, at Boise, and they made their home in Melba, where they have lived all their married life.  Jim died October 12, 1988.
    Nan was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a member of the Royal Neighbors of America.  
    She had a great love for animals.  She enjoyed gardening and crafts, including ceramics and china painting.
    Nan is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carla and Harry Pitman of Nampa; a granddaughter and her husband, Wendy and Howard Nau, and a grandson, Stephen Grant, all of Meridian, and five great-grandchildren, Nanci, Tarni, Brydon, Tina and Jamie.
    Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, two grandsons, two brothers and one sister.
    Friends may call at the Alsip Funeral Chapel today until 9 p.m.
