Funeral services
for May Maxine Johnson, 63, of parma,
who died Saturday, in an Ontario hospital, will be
conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Kirkpatrick Memorial
Church, Parma, under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel,
Caldwell. Interment
will follow at Parma Cemetery.
She was born Jan.
25, 1919, in Longmont, Colo., then came
to Parma
in 1926 with her parents, Julian and Mary Johnson.
She attended Parma schools from second grade through high
school. She graduated
from high school in 1936.
She then attended the Albcori Normal School and graduated in 1939 with
a Life Certificate.
She later attended the
College of Idaho and obtained a B.A. degree in
education. She began
her teaching career in the mid-40s in
Kilgore, Idaho,
followed by several years in the Wilder and Parma area.
She retired in the spring of 1982.
In addition to teaching, she held offices in Delta
Kappa Gamma, the Eastern Star, Daughters of the
Nile, and the Chapter B.D. of the P.E.O.
Sisterhood. She was a
life-time member of the Kirkpatrick memorial Church, active in
Sunday school and choir, and served as an elder.
She is survived by
her mother, Mary Johnson of Parma;
one brother, Julian Johnson of
Roy, Utah; a
nephew, Ed M. Johnson of Las Vegas, Nev.; and an aunt Nettie Rivers of Longmont, Colo.
