Mary Johanson

    Graveside funeral services for Mary Ellen Johanson. 88, Wilder, who died Sunday in a Homedale nursing home, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Wilder Cemetery.  Memorial services will follow at 11 a.m. in the United Methodist Church, Wilder, by the Rev. Sue Caille, under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
    She was born Aug. 16, 1893, in Essex County, Ontario, Canada, where she was reared and educated.  She moved to Detroit in 1919.  She married Per O. Johanson on July 14, 1922 in Cleveland.  She became a U.S. citizen in 1922.  They lived in Detroit, and then in 1938, they moved to the Arena Valley area near Wilder.  Her husband died July 14, 1979.
    She is survived by a daughter, Bertha Tarr of Wilder, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. S he was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.
    Friends may call at Dakan Funeral Chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. today.
