Lester French

    Memorial services for Lester J. French, 73, Parma, Route 3, who died Wednesday, March 16, at an Ontario hospital of natural causes, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Sterry Memorial Presbyterian Church, Roswell, by the Rev. William Wartes, Pastor of the church, and the Rev. Ray Wilson of Ontario, Ore., under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Parma.
    He was born April 29, 1909 at Farmersberg, Ind.  He moved with his family at age 7 and settled in the Roswell-Parma area.  He graduated from Roswell High School in 1929.
    He married Frances A. Peck on Dec. 23, 1932, at Ontario.  The couple lived in the Roswell area where they farmed since that time.  He retired from farming in 1972.
    He is a former member of the Parma and Roswell school boards and a member of the Sterry Memorial Presbyterian Church, Roswell.
    He is survived by his wife, of Parma; one daughter, Judy Barnes of Nyssa; one son, J.C. French of Boise; one brother, Dr Wayne D. French of Boise; one sister, Irene Hopkins of Wilder; and six grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter.
    Memorials may be made to the Sterry Memorial Presbyterian Church or the Student Scholarship Fund, Parma High School.
