Lyle Housley

    Graveside services for Lyle Gilbert Housley, 64, Box 632, Wilder, who died Saturday, Oct. 15, of natural causes at a Clarkston, Wash., hospital, were conducted today at the Wilder Cemetery, Wilder, under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, by the Rev. Douglas Flowers of Parma, with commital rites by Wilder Lodge 83. AF&AM.
    He was born Feb. 21, 1919, at Mountain Grove, Mo., where he was reared and educated.  He married Betty Ann Backus on June 12, 1938, at Ava, Mo.  He served with the Sea Bees during World War II, and then with the reserve following the war for a total of 20 years of military service.  They moved to Salinas, Calif., in 1953, where he was employed with E.A. Buttler Co. as an operating engineer in road construction for 25 years.
    He retired in 1980 and moved to Wilder where he had since resided.  He was a master Mason in the Confidence Lodge 203 AF&AM at Castroville, Calif.
    He is survived by his wife of Wilder; one son, Lyle Joseph Housley of Salinas, Calif.; two daughters, Phyllis Jean Gibbs, Salinas and Janet Kay Jones of Riverton, Wyo.; two brothers, Thomas Housley of Caldwell and Charley Housely of Cincinnati, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Sadie Tuttle of Wilder; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
    Memorials may be made to the Shriners' Crippled Children's Hospital.
