Lee B. "Red" Hays, 70, of Marsing, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 1991, at home of natural causes.  Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Jan. 14, 1991, at the Dakan Funeral Chapel in Caldwell. Rev. Charles Ryan of the Nazarene Church, Homedale, will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Wilder Cemetery.
    Mr. Hays was born May 6, 1920, at Grandmarie, Minn., the son of Lee Bowan and Evaline Brown Hays.  His family moved to Idaho when he was a young boy, settling in the Homedale area where he was raised.  He received his education in a country school house near his home and also in Homedale.
    He married Lola Stith Feb. 1, 1947, at Homedale.  Red worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years until his health began to fail.  Upon his retirement in 1980, Red and Lola moved to Marsing where they had since resided.
    Red will be greatly missed by all of his loved ones.  They will always remember his kind way and his loving heart.
    Survivors include: his wife, Lola Hays of Marsing; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Jim Rodgers of Othello, Wash.; his brothers and sisters, Carl D. Hays of Homedale, Robert B. Hays of Homedale, Faye Dines of Marsing, Eulah Hays of Homedale and Velma Milligan of Nampa; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter.
    Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the Dakan Funeral Chapel in Caldwell.
