Rosary for John Walter Garrity, 62, of Homedale, who died
Friday, June 7, in a Boise hospital of natural causes, will be
recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Flahiff Funeral Chapel of
Homedale.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.
Thursday, June 13, at St. Hubert’s Catholic Church, Homedale,
with Father Mel Sprute as celebrant. Burial will follow in
Mount Calvary Cemetery in Nampa.
Mr. Garrity, a retired attorney and geologist was born
Jan. 5, 1923, in Nampa, to Earl and Martha Buntrock Garrity.
He was reared and educated in Nampa and Silver City.
He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and
graduated from Gonzaga University at Spokane, Wash., where he
majored in law. He practiced law in Nampa with his father.
He married Ruth Beinhart on Oct. 10, 1953, in Kennewick,
Wash. The couple made their home in Nampa and in several
other Western locations prior to settling in Homedale in 1968.
He was a member of the Catholic Church and the Homedale
American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth of Homedale; a son,
Patrick Garrity of Washington, D.C.; and several aunts, uncles
and cousins, including Mrs. Reid Robinson of Nampa. A son Tim
Garrity, died in 1981. His parents also died earlier.
Memorials may be made to St. Hubert’s Catholic Church,
Homedale’ or flowers may be sent.
Friends may call Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the
Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Homedale. |
